Casas do Pátio, Porto, perfect apartment Portugal

Casas do Pátio is an apartment complex in Porto, Portugal’s second city. The building, completely renovated in 2012, is located in the old Ribeira district, 500 meters from the Douro River and São Bento metro and train station. In the former house, located on a patio, there are four different apartments for groups ranging from two to eight people. The studios are modern and freshly decorated, while retaining Portuguese details, all equipped with bathroom, kitchen, living and bedrooms, Wi-Fi and cable TV. In the immediate vicinity are sights such as the terraces and port houses of Calem, Sandeman, Graham’s and Kopke on the banks of the Douro, the Dom Luis I bridge, the Torre dos Clérigos and the Sé Cathedral. A tram ride and a visit to the beaches of Porto should certainly not be missing from the program of a city trip to Porto. Ryanair and easyJet, among others, fly to Porto and offer cheap flights to Francisco Sá Carneiro airport.

Location and furnishings

Casas do Pátio is located in the old, historic district of Ribeira (riverside in Portuguese), an old part of the city consisting of many small alleys and streets, many of which have been renovated (and many are still under restoration) and added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1996. It is less than a kilometer on foot to the Ponte de Dom Luís I, the famous iron bridge, built by students of the builder of the Eiffel Tower. The four apartments appear spacious, luxurious, modernly furnished, but with a Portuguese touch. Photo collages everywhere, both in the living areas and the portals, of Portuguese scenes and cityscapes. All apartments have wonderful beds, a beautiful view of the old town, accompanied by the sounds of the many seagulls circling around the property. No dishwasher, but induction hobs, hairdryers, flat-screen TVs with many channels, a toaster, nice towels, an authentic Portuguese local supermarket just around the corner, Wi-Fi, and a very pleasantly styled apartment or studio.
